Be patient, she's a busy lady. Car looks good!

Car is on the DVLA site. It is marked as "exported". First reg 1/7/69 and last tax due date 1/11/93, so it's been out of the system for some time.

Hi Pint and welcome. Nice 2 door you got there. If I were you I would just ring your local Revenue office and explain the situation. Because the car was sourced within the EU and is over 30 years old I am fairly sure you dont have to pay any VAT. Also because it is vintage, VRT is only about €48. So they are not going to lose out by anyone "pulling a fast one". They will probably be fairly flexible when you explain the situation. You will then have the option of getting a 69D plate or an age related ZV one, the choice is yours. Oh and of course cheap tax and insurance, the joys of vintage motoring.

Thanks Alf Ista. I love to register it here and get a 69D plate.I tried to call TAX office, i rang Shannon, even the NCT centre where they make the VRT, but everyone giving me the other office`s phonenumber to call them, as they cant help...... Its an endless circle.
The last NCT centre told me to find a Vintage Enthusiasts Club and they can provide me some sort of a document !? I was searching the net , but dont know where to go.

i love the OP's statement.. "i realized there was something wrong but i fell in love and bought it anyway.."
lol.. reminds me of a very sorry porsche 928 i bought a few years ago, in Galway at 2am 'sold as seen'.
the 'new' battery got me as far as ballinasloe when the fuel pumps, lights and heater all finally sucked it dry.. so i spent a lovely february night, in just a suit, in a stinking, mouldy, damp, and very dead car, with four 17 inch wheels packed in around me.. and 2 cigarettes to last me til morning..

lesson learned the hard way, Pint... but i'm sure it'll be grand in the end.

Ps. give me a shout if you want to look over the brakes, etc.. i've had some fun doing mine, so it'll be easy to compare, etc to see how your car drives/handles, etc..
