I understand what you mean.

If the wheels are stolen though, what is there to say there were no locking nuts fitted ? If a Volvo dealer can remove them, then I'm sure criminals have access to the same tools.

Volvo have a kit of master keys which are ordered by the dealer on a load basis for the particular job .

I don't understand what you mean. "ordered on a load basis" ? Volvo UK have a master key kit sent out to dealers on a loan basis ? In which case it is a very quick process; phoned in on Thursday afternoon, locking wheel bolts removed on the Friday.

When I posted originally that I was happy, it wasn't about the wheel bolts, it was meant for my experience with the Volvo dealer.

For reasons of insurance cover, I did order some replacement OEM Volvo locking bolts. Part number 31439226.

The "lock" has been redesigned compared to the originals; the key fits into the bolt head a lot more positively than the original ever did. I don't think I was the first to have had issues with the original. The box indicates they are made in the UK now.

Interesting , Don't forget to torque all 4 wheel bolts to the same torque ...
