As a MY2011.5er with OnCall, its highly annoying that none of the functionality is available when you thing the GPS aspects etc, should work no problem at all, or at least a version there of.

Thumbs down for Volvo on this, they need to support their user base, not just bring out functionality for the latest models. One of the reasons I got OnCall was due to the potential of what could be done but they just seem to have abandoned all their purchasers. I'll end up voting with my feet when it comes time to review my sub
Agree - Volvo introduced a new telematics unit from MY 2012 which allows the data comm to interrface to the app - and there is no retro fittings.
But there also appears to be no "after fit" either to allow me to upgrade into my MY 2012 which is a lost revenue stream to Volvo................

Mind you, without the Iphone link I probably wont have gone for Oncall in the first place.

You have to think that this is only a software thing in the car, and should be available as an upgrade on older cars. The hardware has to be the same.....

Maybe they want to roll it our slowly to see how it is received - during the hook up process I ended up speaking to somebody from VOC (I pushed the button for too long while trying to pair) and she knew nothing about an app!!
As far as I remember VOC use a call centre.
The operators are there just to pass on to the service required, they have no technical knowledge how the system works, or is expected to work.
They can tell your location, how much fuel you have, all doors closed, etc and that is about it.
Anything else, is passed on.
They will phone you back and give updates of your requirements.

Quickly push the on call button.. For maybe a second at most and the car and phone will link.

If you push it for longer you will end up actually speaking to somebody at VOC

hi, i tired that, although i have an xc90 my 12. On the app when i complete new account set up it says waiting for car to respond and just stays there. If i press the on call button makes no difference .

Does the button have to be pressed at the beginning or when the app goes into waiting for car?

thanks again

Not really sure I recall, I have a feeling it was when the phone said it was waiting for the car to respond
