Default 850 Wheel bearing

What would a sensible garage rate to fit an 850 front wheel bearing if I supply the bearing? My local garage wants £200, plus VAT, to provide and fit. Seems a lot!

Sounds about right to be honest. The bearing itself isn't a bearing as such but a complete hub assembly, priced at around £100 or so. A couple of hours labour at £40 an hour, plus re-alignment, plus VAT, and £200 is about right.

I've had 3 bearings fitted to x70 series cars now, and every time the bill's been around the £200 mark.

Cheers

Jack

Sorry didn't read the supply and fit at the end, thought you were supplying the bearing yourself.

when i purchased my s70, i needed the wheel bearing changed and also a full service, came to about £350 in total and even though the garage i used where cowboys and never done part of the service correctly, the breakdown worked out to about £200 for the bearing and £150 for the service.
