I suppose that a rev counter with a "ribbon" type display would be in keeping if one were available. BTW. How would a rev counter be driven. From the distributor? PS. couldn't find a ribbon type but what would y'all think of this? Opinions welcome. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Rev-Counter-4-...item2a04551bcc

Yes, the rally dash is a bit expensive!
I have never seen a ribbon type tachometer. Don't like the chrome one, tacky IMO!! A ribbon speedo plus an inset round tach looks ok, as I said in post 2. I regret that I have no photos of my 164 with that mod, but this factory option tach on the Rover P6 gives you the idea. John |

Dificult to find somewhere convenient on 144 dash. I will have a look at removing ash tray with a view to locating one there if poss.

If it's an early 140, with the long gearlever & the centre console unit (that also fits nicely in Amazons), how about fitting the tacho in place of the clock in the console? IIRC, the clock is about 80mm, so a regular Smiths tacho would probably fit there without any modifications.

towbar
I have a towbar for a 140 series car, I bought it for my 1971 144 in order to tow classic caravan. Have since sold the caravan so no longer required. It is an original equipment Volvo towbar that I have had professionally shot blasted and powder coated in satin black. It looks really good and has never been fitted. It will need new bolts and electric connection but I assume you'd want to replace these anyway. I'm based in Cheltenham, make me a reasonable offer and its yours.

Hi, it sounds ok. Could you possibly find out what it would cost to ship to Portugal?
