Sold already. Even taking the work it needs into consideration, that still seemed cheap for a gul yellow manual t5R. Rare opportunity for sure

Was it sold? I saw it was taken off eBay 5 days before the auction was due to end and it says "reserve not met". Perhaps someone made him a great offer and he just delisted it. Anyone on here I wonder?

Be good to know if it did sell and, if so, for how much. As a gamble, sight unseen, I'd guess it was probably worth somewhere between £5,500 and £6,500 (given that to bring it to a great standard could cost anything between £3000 and £8000+ dependent on unseen nastiness). Anything more than £6,500 would be going out on a limb in my opinion. I'd certainly budget for a whole bunch of stuff that at that age / mileage would be coming up for replacement which wasn't mentioned as dealt with in the original description.

John

I take it we are talking about a different T5 here???

As this thread was originally about the red T5 which is still for sale

Indeed. We are talking about the Yellow 855 T-5R manual you spotted on eBay (with the hope of a finders commission lol).

As to the original red shed which started this thread, I'd offer the guy £3.50 plus a book on English spelling, punctuation, syntax and grammar.

Seemed like a half decent read to me although hard work.

In reality the car doesn't look that bad as it does appear to have had some thought put into it...

Terminology is a little off with regards to waste gate rather than recirculation valve but I knew what they meant

18T unlikely 350BHP

It wouldn't surprise me if it has had engine work carried out reading the description as I suspect it is creating power low down which is what usually causes the stock internal issues....

I too don't think it's as bad as what people think it is. As I mentioned in an earlier post, rewrite the ad ignore some of the mods and you will properly find it is a half-decent car. Its cleary had some attention and money spent on it in the past.

There are many of us here think it's had the wrong sort of attention. Most who would want to end up with a car tuned to the claimed level would want to either buy one that was fully documented or do it themselves and document it.

If the ad was better written "like wot it ain't", that would inspire more confidence and with a lot less slagging off autos - why is there a need to belittle something it doesn't have?

Think there were a few other things he was deriding as well but can't remember what they were nor do i feel inclined to read through the diatribe that passes for a listing again!

You may well be right, it might be a much better car than many of us are giving it credit for but i wouldn't touch it with someone elses bargepole!

That doesn't necessarily mean it will sell though, they could well be shill bids.

Time will tell if it gets relisted soon, even if it's listed by another ebayer in a different part of the country.
