Default airbag sensor replacment

hi has anyone replaced thier air bag crash sensor and air bagags unfortunatly due to an impact at 20mph with a manhole cover both my airbags exploded, breaking also the windscreen, my question is can a crash sensor ,from another car,,,i have one available ,, be used along with the airbag etc, my car is a 1994 940 polar,, im in italy ,thanks

I'm pretty sure that the sensor or airbag control unit and the airbags are all the same and can be replaced individually. I have a feeling that the front seat belts are also connected into the system and might also need replacing.
