Default Floor Pan Rust

Has anyone had issues with the floor pan rusting out?

I’ve got a 2004 V70 and cleaning the inside yesterday I lifted some carpet just behind the driver’s seat and saw some holes through to the floor outside. Just had a look and it seems the plasticky rustproofing underneath has cracked at some point and let water in which has rusted the pan. It looks like I’m going to have to chisel the rustproofing back to reveal the extent, cut the rot out and get it welded up before re-rust proofing.

It doesn’t look close enough to the B pillar to be a structural issue but who knows until I reveal the extent of it.

Very annoying.
