1999 S40 Heater/blowers
I have recent purchased a Volvo S40 1999. But when i turn the air re-circulation button off, the blower starts clicking, when i put the air re-circulation button back on, it stops. Does any one know what this is/could be?

Until recently I had a 1999 V40 which had this very annoying problem on the passenger side, a few years ago. I remember the dashboard needs to be pulled forward to access the recirculation door which I suspect may be catching on the motor, hence the noise. I did try this myself (as an amateur) but had to give up eventually as I couldn't access it and so I got my garage to deal with it. If you still have any warranty I would suggest you try that first.

Air Recirc Clicking
You should probably take a look at this idea:
http://www.volvoforums.org.uk/vbarti...e&articleid=13 I have 1997 S40 with a ticking from the passenger side recirc motor, and I found this thread today. Have'nt tried it yet but will next weekend. Good luck if its the same problem. Steve |
