Images showing smaller dash in Momentum
Does anyone have any photos of their momentum dashboard? I'm struggling to find images of the smaller digital display and I've only experienced the one in an inscription XC90.
Currently contemplating purchasing a MY18 Momentum XC90. Many thanks! |

Thanks Quacker. So I take it from that screenshot that the gauges on the left/right are fixed? I'm a little confused about it saying that the right can contain "navigation information" - does that mean the temperature gauge can be replaced by a map?

Have a look at this
I suspect that the smaller instrument display does not copy the map available in the centre display as is the case with the 12" display. If you want that functionality and subject to someone correcting me, I strongly suggest you specify the larger display. I quite like the smaller display personally and wouldn't mind it at all. Apart from the map it provides all the information you really need. For some reason it even includes a coolant temperature gauge which is not available on the 12" screen.

From the manual (p.16):
The map is only shown on the 12" instrument panel |

I thought that the 12" screen was definitely worth paying extra for, which is one of the reasons I decided to get the Momentum Pro spec.

As a stand alone option, the big instrument panel only costs £375. I have yet to see a car without it fitted.

I've got the 8" dash in mine. As you rightly say, the fuel and temperature gauges to the sides are fixed much like an old school digital dash and have bars the light up to show levels.
The digital dash in the middle consists of big speedo with varying options to either side. On the left you have a choice of nothing, a rev counter or an economy meter - this changes depending on what drive mode you're in. On the right you can have information relating to your phone, media or position (sat-nav). If the latter it displays you position when a route isn't active (i.e. road number/name). If you have a route planned it displays driving directions and (junction symbols, turn indications, roundabout exits in graphical form (much like the central dash display in a Golf) and to do this it sometimes overlays it on the right hand side of the speedo. When it does this is covers the numbers between around 100mph and 150mph. I'm not sure if it would obscure you speed if you were going that fast - I'm yet to find out! I'll try and grab some photos later today.

Thanks for the replies everyone.
Peter - that's exactly the information I was looking for and if you can find time to take a couple of pics, I'd really appreciate it - thanks |

TBH if you are spending so much on an XC90 I would not skimp on the driver display. I have driven a loaner with the smaller display and the 12" is much better in my opinion.
