S80 t6 2.8l
Hello guys,
Please could you possible help me out. I have recently had two new coils and new plugs fitted. Had a full service including the fuel filter changed. However I am noticing now more and more that the engine is very lumpy (rough idle). sitting at about 700rpm. This car has the geartronic greabox in it also. I especially notice this when coming to a stop at a set of lights, rpm droppshas so far stalled twice on me. I took the car to the mechanic to get the codes checked, there were a lot of faults i could see that came up, mechanic cleared them all then ran the engine again. Saying that the number 2 rear lambda sensor is at fault. I believe i read somewhere on here that this sensor does not affect the running of the engine, so not had it replaced at this point in time (wanting to check with you guys first). I have the ecm light on and the warning triangle is lit up also. I have an emissions service message and an engine service message on the display. After he cleared the codes the car ran well for a almost 3 weeks, but not it has starting to come back again. have you guys got any ideas on what could be causings this. I use the car daily and soon my wife is about to give birth to our daughter, so i want to make sure i get this idle issue when coming to a stop sorted out. Please help.

What codes did the mech find? My car had similar symptoms and for months I was shooting in the dark until I invested in a code reader. Google the codes and you will be amazed at how much info is out there to help you resolve those problems if you haven't yet!

check your MAF sensor..... mine had serious idling issues the other day & i thought it was ETM related but turned out to be a failing MAF.
unplug the MAF & run the car..... if idle issues are gone its a fair bet there's the problem.
