Default Awning

I have a 90's swift silhouette diamond what ever the diamond bit means. Anyhow I want to buy a awning for it this is where the rub is and why I'm asking, where will I find one or is it a case of old van =impossible. Old van but a good lightweight fairly well equipped van I may add. Any suggestions thanks

Hello,

You just need to know what size awning you need, once you know that you can get one from any awning shop.

Or you could go for a porch awning....

Do you have a handbook? It will tell you the awning size in there.

Thanks Mr v70 thankfully I do have the manual I will take a look good to know I can get a awning for it as the van is fairly small. But on the upside it's very light. The awning would give me more space

Try Glossop Caravans.
They sell new and used awnings of all makes and sizes.

You just need to measure around the awning rail, starting and finishing at the floor, then look for an awning that fits this size range.

They are all designed to have a bit of flex in the last bit you peg out to allow for some adjustment.

A better explanation here: http://www.a2zcamping.co.uk/news/how...an-awning.html

We had trouble getting an awning to fit our old van due to height and curves so ended up buying a motor home drive away one as it only fits to the caravan in one place so size did not matter, hope you find one

I think you might need an awning measuring 875-900 if it is the van i'm thinking of.
Its a pity you are so far away as I have one I'm needing rid of that has never been used.
You could always buy a standard Kampa Rally 260 type porch awning?

Thank you volvo145 sorry for the late reply some good advice there, I'm looking forward to getting it out properly in a few weeks time but a bit apprehensive also as I haven't towed it very far and I'm also a bit concerned about hills. But I replaced the standard hitch with a Alko aks 1300. I think being a light van and I'm pulling it with a s60 185 I should be fine. I also bought some towing mirrors. Just out of interest what part of the country are you based if you aren't to far it might be worth a trip to buy the awning from you. I also hope I'm legal to tow car +van weight combo I'm pretty sure I'm way under I passed my test in 2005

You could try a porch awning, so you only need to measure the straight part (roofline) of the awning rail.
You can also get inflatable porch awnings.
We got one for our new van. 5m long, but put up in minutes. And, although it's inflatable, it's rock solid.
Not our van, but here is the awning

You won't have any problems towing a light van with the S60 or even a heavier 1. The 185 engine easily tows a 1550kgs.
