Fuel lines question.
Hi. Replaced fuel lines from the pump to to
Carburettors in 8mm pipe and fitted a non return valve just after the pump. Not sure if I should have used 6mm or if it matters much. I have been trying to sort out cold starting issues. Many thanks Paul. 1966 P1800S. |

Paul;
That sounds correct for fuel line sizes... Fuel Pump has an internal NRV, so fitting additional externally is not really necessary. Difficulty cold starting is typically due to inadequate Choke. To check, fully pull Choke Control and verify at Jets to see they are being lowered by about 1/4". If not, check adjustment, and for lost motion due to Cablesheath slipping. See: https://www.sw-em.com/Heat_from_Heat...et_to_COLD.htm ...written for Heater Control Valve, but also applicable to Choke. Good Hunting! |
