Which is better?
Right, I have been asked my a female frined to post this up.
Basically, I drive my mums V70 2.5 20v (99), and this girl i know occasionally drives her mums V40. (I think it is just a 1.8). The question I am asking is, WHICH ONE IS BETTER? I dont know how to start a poll on this forum, if it is possible could admin possibly create on. I say that the V70 is miles better. not just cos i drive one, but because i think they are generally better looking, and much more practical. I look forward to everyones views. |

Depends what you're after?
V40 1.8 got to be more economical, tend to be bullet proof too. V70 2.5 20v more space and luxury. Maybe not as reliable. Better looking? Eye of the beer holder and all that... Which is better? The one that suits your needs best!

I must say that I would lean towards a V70 - but only because I have a 145 and can't see any 'family' resemblence in the V40... good luck. |

the v40 will be much more economical with the gdi engine in, and if its a late, well specced example its probably on-par interms of luxury as well - however it is a smaller car - and thus less practical. looks-wise - the v40 has won awards, which i don't know if the v70 has, but its up to the beholder.. i think theres a resemblance in both..

well ill count that as 2 votes for the v70 so far.i just want your opinions though.
ill ask the question WHICH ONE DO YOU PREFERE? That is kinda what i meant in the first place. maybe a little misleading the original question. |

The biggest advantage the V70 has is its aurall entertainment value.

The decent stereo, excellent dashboard ergonomics, nice climate control and comfy seats didn't hurt either!

As somebody who has owned both a V40 (1.9D) and a V70 2.5 10v my vote goes to the V70 every time. The V40 definitely looks better but was nowhere near as practical as the V70 and in my case the V40 proved significantly less reliable than my V70.
However neither of them come close to the XC90 I now drive! |
