No Sound from radio after android install
Hello everyone,
This is my first post. I really hope someone can help me as I'm at my wits end! I have a 2012 Volvo V60 edrive and recently I brought a android touchscreen headunit for my car as i wanted to upgrade it abit with sat nav, dab etc. It came with a plug and play wiring harness and I installed it as instructed. The unit works fine including android auto and all the other features. Except I have no sound! I tested the unit before I put it back into the dashboard and everything was working but when I came out the next day the unit powered up but there is no sound. The original small tft screen broke so I purchased a second hand one to see if this was the issue. I have now returned the car back to stock with the new small screen but there is still nothing, the screen remains black. No volvo badge or any sign of life. When the android unit was fitted was the heater display would show when I turn it on and change the temperature so I know that there is power to the panel. Also today I noticed that the red light from the back of the cd unit comes on for approx 30 secs then goes off. Could this be the issue? I've also done the disconnect the battery rest thing and still nothing. Please please someone must know an answer! Thanks in advance. |

Secondly you will be in a very small minority who has attempted this retrofit. I looked into it at one point but didn't feel happy about the work involved. I believe you have to remove the 2 x fibre optic cables from the car harness and fit these into the new connector. Have you refit these correctly? If your system was similar to this it specifically mentions a loss of sound: https://integratedautomotive.co.uk/u...roid-auto-kit/ Good luck!

A original screen from another car wont work , they are security locked to the original car via the software .

I keep threatening to sell my car as I'm not sure I fully trust the electrical gubbins in her. then I look at this, think "I need that" and potentially add more electrical items to the party! |

I know of one person on FB who fitted one then sent it back as they couldn't get the radio to work. I now use an Android tablet which sits on the top of the waterfall quite nicely aided by a magnet for Google maps
