Default 2006 XC90 D5 (185bhp) SE - FSH & JUST ONE ONWER FROM NEW!

Hi Guys & Girls,

Our beautiful, pampered XC90 in pearlescent Willow Green is up for sale. We've owned it from new and it's only been touched by the Volvo dealer who sold it to us - Clelands Volvo in Galashiels. Reason for sale: we have a new XC60 arriving from Sweden!

We have every receipt from the initial sale invoice, all servicing receipts and interim repairs. Importantly, the timing belt and associated pulleys etc. were replaced at 81k, it's never towed anything, we always use Shell V-Power to keep the injectors clean and we always let it idle to cool the turbocharger before shutdown after fast runs / entry to motorway service stations.

Believe me, our car is in virtually perfect condition inside & out. It's done 115k and is taxed, serviced & MOT through to 31 March 2014. It has a manual gearbox 6-speed, better performance, efficiency, lower road tax and reliability than the geartronic versions. This is the newer 185bhp D5 engine. Extras include Winter Pack, rear skid plate and front parking assist / sensors.

It's listed on eBay so follow this link to see lots of pics and tons of information about it, including those all important documents that testify to the lifetime of our car.

Best wishes and happy bidding!

Hello XCeed,

We knew we had a superb example of a 2006/06 XC90 but even we have been surpised by the final winning bid. The good news is that the winner is someone who came to view the car - so the risk of the winning bidder being a timewaster doesn't apply here. A lady, lives in the area who wants the car and will be proudly using it to tow her beloved horse around in its horsebox!

We had three other offers should the deal fall through, including one poor fellow from Wales who said he tried to bid more but his laptop let him down at the crucial moment.

Flippin' hec, that was one mad scramble for our car, believe me.

Having said that, it is a pampered car, wonderful photos, a great listing and every scrap of dealer paperwork was available for inspection. eBay motor auctions don't come much better than this, or safer for the buyer.

Good result all round then! Out of interest, we watched the auction through (although not in the market ourselves) and were as surprised as you as the price crept up. Thought you were very brave to start at £99 - gulp!!

No, no....we're not brave. The reserve was set at £6,495. But we know from experience that it's better to set a realistic reserve and a very low starting price for bids. It creates a buzz you see.

Best wishes.

Default ....and there she goes

And that was that - almost 8yrs of happiness left our world this afternoon at 3pm as she rolled off of our drive and headed east towards the rural wilderness of the Scottish Borders.

Sad in some ways, happy in others. eBay certainly was amazing though!

Bye bye, XC90
