A couple of questions
I have just bought a 2002 2.5 V70 and have a couple of questions.
Just behind the sunroof, there is a square box in the headlining, what is this? Also, in my previous car, (1997 V70), the cambelt change was at 80000 miles, but in the Haynes manual for my new one it says 108000, (or 10 years), is this correct? I would have thought it would still be 80000 miles. Also, do the tailgate struts from a 1997 model fit a 2002 model?, as the 2002 car needs new ones and the struts in my 1997 car are new, it would be great to be able to just swap them over. Hello, Your lift supports will not swap between P1 and P2. Many people say that the increase in service life of the cam belt was made to lower the projected maintenance costs on paper. The 80K life was a cautious call. I would guess many a mechanic has seen timing hardware with the higher mileage. I never looked for or noticed the square box you mentioned. When I go out I'll take a look. Kira

Thanks Kira, I'm thinking, as the car is now 10 years old, it would be wise to get the belt changed.

Hi,
The square box in the head lining is to do with the alarm system. Check your manual,it'll tell you a bit more about it,it's clever stuff. Jason |
