Those bushes are TARFU Luke!

Bummer about the drop link, good excuse to fit polybushes in a new pair though!

A big thank you to Dave for repairing the dodgy solder joints on the back of the gauges, I didn't have the equipment to do it and Dave has done a fantastic job!

This forum is brilliant, full of members who genuinely do have a keen interest in these cars and will help other members out to keep them going, by far the best forum I've ever been on.

Nice one Dave I'll be looking for some tips on soldering to get the bulb to work behind my temp gauge

A lot of the time Mark, if you remove the bulbholder, tease the finger contacts out away from the holder a bit and clean them, clean the tracks rounf the hole for the bulb holder and refit giving it a few back and forth turns as far as you can, that usually solves it.

Sometimes you have to pull the bulb out of the holder and refit it to clean the contacts on that, there are some links that might need soldering, going to have to look at mine soon as i've got 2 large and one small out on my cluster. Kind of annoying as they're LEDs and it's a pig of a job getting the cluster out and back in again.

Keep thinking about compltely stripping the clust and fitting some reflection inside it and adding some LED strips inside as extra light and loading on the dimmer although i can get mine pretty dim anyway.

Might do a few photos when i sort the immediate lighting problem in the cluster but that's a few days away at least.

Removed the bulb and teased the contacts. Replaced the bulb for a known working bulb and it still goes on and off when it likes. Sometimes when it's really cold it comes on when first starting in the morning and goes out half way to work. Other times it comes on when the car is hot when I'm nearly home ????? Very odd

I've been refurbishing the arms this morning, this the third set I've done so I'm getting quick at it!

I forgot to take a photo of the strut rod in bare metal.

My hydraulic press really has been a massive help with these arms!

I thought at first glance you'd inadvertently given your lads bike some grey "go-faster" stripes!

Enlarging it i can see it's the original decals though!

Good to hear the 12T press is earning its keep too, does it take much effort to pop the bushes out or does it just push them out without thinking?

All great work there, looking forward to more of this!

😂 he wouldn't be happy with that!

They are the original bushes so after 20 years plus they are a bit stuck! You can feel the pressure build up then it gets very hard, so a big heave and with a big bang they go and push out with ease.
