Managed to purchase a SIPS decal for the rear window
This isn't single letters but has the correct clear background Not the best picture as too much reflection If anyone is interested in the Swedish version I have one available SIPS Sidokollisionsskydd

John, i presume the cross rails you have on your thinner rails just clamp underneath without going into a recess. The thicker rails have an angled recess underneath that the bottom of the cross bars fits into making them very stable. As yours don't have this recess the bars can slide slightly if they are not tightened within an inch of its life!. I have the same cross bars on my lovely 850 diesel and they don't quite sit right, but look much nicer than the more chunky versions around.

There is no recess on my bars Dean and yes the cross bars did have a bit of movement when pulled on them until I cut a 3mm thick piece of rubber and fitted it in the upper part of each clamp. All the data I've read on these bars states they are suitable for the 850 rails and I can only presume the original rubbers have become compressed or deteriorated through age therefore need a little extra rubber to allow them to be properly tightened.
I can now grab hold of the bard and pull as hard as I can without them moving I'm confident enough now to mount a bike on the top of the 850

Happy Birthday to my 850, 24 years old this month. Sadly I don't have an exact date as it was first registered in Germany in 1997 and never received British status until October 1999 when it eventually reached our shores.
The MOT expired on 2nd January and I put it on SORN at the end of September so it's been sitting in the same spot for the past 5½ months. I'll MOT it at the end of March and put it back on the road for the summer months

I received an email late last night to remind me the insurance on the 850 was due renewal in the middle of March so a quick online later last night showed me a reasonable saving, but still on a non classic policy.
So today I decided to make a few phone calls and I now have the 850 on a classic policy and have saved almost £100 compared to my original renewal price
