Default Code readers

Anyone know if the cheap code readers on a well known auction site are any good and actually work at all
When I say cheap I mean the £10/£15 ones
Trying to remove a airbag dash light that’s on because the seat was taken out without removing the battery

I doubt that any of the really cheap code readers will access these SRS codes.

If the seat has now been replaced have you since tried disconnecting the battery for an extended period to see if the fault condition resets?

No.
Save your money and give it to a local member with Vida instead.
They might even do it for free.

For £15 go to a garage. A scanner that can remove SRS message starts at £70 for cheap garbage ones

Thinking about it, the SRS does a self check everytime you switch the ign on.
The light will go out if there is no current fault.
Yes there will be a stored fault, but that wont put the light on.

that wasnt the case when I triggered SRS warning when removing the heater panel.. I know that's not the same cause but for what it's worth that needed the fault to be cleared manually

didnt try battery disconnection (it was going in anyway for a service) but I'm guessing that wouldnt work.. may be wrong

edit .. that was an actual SRS warning with the triangle etc. not just the airbag warning light, may be different kettle of fish

If the seat plugs have been pulled incorrectly, the SRS fault will not self clear regardless of whether the plug is now correct and no matter how long you leave it.

+1 Only a Check Engine will clear by itself after a while if the cause is resolved, I believe

Add the BSR-PPC reader to the "SRS light" list.
A member sold it here.
