No we did not just rely on servicing. We had our own Transport Company with Artics running all over Europe so we certainly know about checking oil and water.

Sorry to hear of your problems.

I also have a 2014 D5, with 89K miles.
It has a slow coolant leak which I am told is internal - i.e. head gasket or cracked block (based on a coolant pressure test) so I am worried it may be the same problem.

Can you tell me -
- is yours a cracked cylinder liner or a crack in the block itself ?
- have you heard of many D5s with this problem ?
- is this more common than a blown head gasket ?

Any other details would be useful as I may face a similar ordeal.
