Default p1800 wheel studs - 7/16" vs. ½"

Hello All,

Dave here, and new to the forum. I am trying to find out if/when there was a change in stud size or mounting nut sizes on the p1800 across the production years.

Does anyone know if there was a year delineation for the p1800 between those cars that used 7/16" mounting nuts vs ½"nuts? I can't find anything on the ole trusty inter web on the subject, so I wanted to turn to the experts for help.

Thank you in advance for your help.

Dave

MWS Wire Wheel website, under Splined Hub" mentions both 7/16" and ½"nuts, but doesn't go further to say why. See attached screenshot and/or link below.

There's no specific reference to Volvo there and different applications for other makes may well use 7/16".

Dave;

Welcome to this forum!

I agree with other posters, and AFAIK, Lug Nuts have always been 1/2" UNF.

Cheers from Connecticut (I just returned from the Catskills)!
