Changed the oil, oil filter & air filter in my Dad's V70 D5. It had a full service last year, so just gave it a minor one this time around.

Parts/items purchased.

Oil (6L's) - Mobil 1 Super 3000 FE 5w30 (meets A5/B5 spec).
Oil filter - Mann
Air filter - Mann

Absolutely nothing done to the car as It's rained all day here in not so sunny Chesterfield but I did manage to come to a complete halt on a back road hill fully covered in a sheet of ice then successfully tested the transmission in that all four wheels turned when required.

Was also quite impressed with the Pirelli Scorpion Verde all season. Very little slip and only a modicum of tail out sideways opposite lock driving considering that's not a typical surface they excel on.

Just looked at it in the garage when collecting the Roses chocolates for that were hiding.

Lubed driver door handle yesterday as it was a bit sticky.

Finally some warm-ish weather so I got the XC serviced... what a pain the pollen filter is, took a lot of swearing to get that in haha.

Produced a job report (mainly to make my life easier next service), which includes pictures etc. Might be useful to someone so here it is:

Volvo XC70 - Service Report #21 - Oil & filter, air filter, pollen filter.

Replaced the front shock absorbers, spring seats & bearings on my Dad's P3 V70 D5.

Not a five minute job, that's for sure (then again, I didn't expect it to be).

Glad its done though, as the car now rides like a dream... No more knocking over bumps & harshness.

Rear shock absorbers & mountings were also replaced recently.

All Volvo parts used*

Finally replaced the rear shocks with Bilsteins today - have been meaning to do it since they finally arrived in the autumn, however the weather has been so bad until now! Also changed the rear drop links for Lemforder replacements (high quality items) and the rear brake pads (Brembos) - those pads were put in new in May, but have already worn down near to the metal. Hmmm - I'm not liking these electric parking brakes... Front pads still hardly any wear. I have read articles saying that you should use the auto off feature, but rather release the brake manually. Anyone else had the same problem?

Gave my S80 a long overdue hand wash! It was pointless up until the last week or so, as it was either snowing or raining!

Now she's gleaming.

2014 XC70 D5 - Removed air intake pipework and crankcase heater nipple which was showing signs of a small leak. Applied blue gas tite sealant and refixed to intake pipe. Set aside overnight for reinstall and test drive tomorrow.

Cleaned around top of engine, wrapped a few areas of wiring harness showing signs of wear from engine vibration.

Jobs to do with next service at 108k miles
Cambelt, water pump and drive belts
Check / replace alternator clutch pulley
Check / replace engine mount(s) causing small vibration in steering wheel at idle
Change Haldex oil and clean gauze
Change rear diff oil
Replace tailgate lift struts
