Evaporator Temp Sensor Location ?
Hi,
I'm trying to locate the evap temp sensor. I have the parts diagram from Vadis (attached), but cannot locate it (item 15 on the diagram) and the diagram doesn't actually show a dotted line as to where the sensor is located. I'm hoping it can be reached without completely removing the dashboard. On left hand drive cars, I've read it is accessible on the drivers side by just removing the lower trim, but although the right hand drive aircon components seem to be mirrored, I've so far been unable to locate it on either the driver or passenger side. Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks, Tim.

Old thread, but I have the same question.
My a/c pipes are freezing up, because the compressor is not getting switched off. The likely culprit is the evaporator temperature sensor, although the diagnostics don't show a fault - the diagnostics show a fault in the compressor, and an issue with the damper motor being slow. So, firstly, where can I get a temp sensor from, where is it located, and how difficult is it to fit? Thanks! |

Interesting...where did you get that pic from?
Also, not sure if that tells me how to get at the part. Do you think its a straight forward job? Or a trip to Volvo... |

Not sure about the job, just on my first volvo after a lifetime of landrovers. You could take the panel off under the steering wheel and have a good look with a torch to see if anything looks recogniseable. Volvo dealer will involve remortgaging your house I imagine! |

Thanks for the help. I get a new temp sensor from Volvo for about £18. If I can fit it myself, I'd be well chuffed. |

Just had a look at my wolwo, doesnt seem to be much access available without dahsboard removal, all I can see is a small panel over the pedals and perhaps behind speedo after removal. Good luck anyway.
