VVT rattle when warm
Hi!
My GF has a Volvo V40 from 2002. When she bought the car, the VVT was bad. We are replaced with a brand new, with a brand new solenoid and timing belt & water pump. Now it's running with Castrol Magnatec 10W40. Sadly the rattling noise is still heard. Only start rattling when the engine is warmed up. About 10 minutes on idle. I can also hear the hydraulic valve lifter. I guess, this effect is caused by the oil pressure problem. However, the oil pressure lamp is not lit. In my opinion, the problem is with the holes which are move the oil to the head. On the crankshaft, I think the oil pressure is normal. This is the second oil change period. The PCV valve is also bad, it causes a vacuum in the head. (Checked with rubber gloves which were clamped on the oil filler cap.) Bad PCV can cause this problem?
