I have a 1982 245 with the original 2.1 engine and su carb. Was super reliable until a year ago when it started cutting out while driving just for e brief second. The rev counter would drop, power would go then everything would cut back in again. Then it started to get worse and dot to the point where it wont run, starts, runs on choke but then keeps cutting out. Have replaced the coil checked dizzy, and leads and have even reconditioned the SU carb and its still doing it! Does anyone know if this model has a basic ecu or have any other ideas why it could be happening? HELP!
