Default 2013 XC90 Preventive Maintenance

Got a 2013 XC90 D5 auto with only 40,000 miles.

What preventive maintenance would you guys suggest doing?

Already planning to do:
engine oil & filter
Air filter
Cabin filter
Power Steering Fluid
Coolant change
Gearbox oil - gibbons method

Any other fluids that need changing or things that need lubricating etc?

Make sure the entire vehicle contains the latest software versions

Check and change fuel filter if needed (should be done every 2 years I think)

Clean sunroof seals and drain tubes (if you have a sunroof)

Run the fuel-powered preheater for a good 20min (if fitted)

Remove rear wheel brake discs and inspect parking brake pad condition, the drums are often rusted up

If you're planning on keeping the car for several years, apply some underbody anti rust treatment at least once a year, especially round the spare wheel and rear subframe

How can I check if the modules are on the latest software versions?

I could probably dig around in VIDA to find the current software versions installed, but don't know how to find what the newest versions are.

If it was last/recently serviced by a pukka Volvo dealer it will have had all the appropriate updates applied at that time.

If you are concerned, then a once-off service/check over and update might be worthwhile.

Cheers

It was serviced last year by Volvo in Reading, no idea how good their service department is but their parts guys are good.

Then you can relax - the software will have been updated as required.

Official Volvo dealers do that every service.

Cheers

The software updates are a good idea but not critical to the longevity of the vehicle.
