The glovebox trim is dead easy, the console trim around the handbrake and gear levers is a bit more difficult and unless you remove the lower part of the fascia the radio/heater trim is a job for a contortionist with multiple joints in their arms.

Couldn't get hold of any of the aluminium trim so I removed the pieces, sprayed them with silver wheel trim paint topped off with a couple of coats of clear lacquer and you'd be hard pushed to tell that they aren't the ally trim without touching them.

You see, that's just a fab idea! I'd quite like to do it to my V70 although I'd have to do it in an interesting colour like blue or something.

How exactly do you remove the trims?

I'm lucky enough to have the aluminium trim in mine. I will be needing to remove the radio/heater surround in the none too distant. Any help offered with this will be appreciated

To remove the trim section around the radio heater for spraying do we have to remove the complete dash board or is there another way??
Thanks

to get the centre part round the radio off you have to have monkey fingers lol i ended up breaking mine off but didn't cause too much damage to replace with the aluminium. There are two different types of aluminium one you will find in a c70 which is slightly darker which is fitted into my v70r now it was the light wood (yuk) and there is a lighter aluminium which you get standard in the v/s 70r's which i have in my s70r the slightly darker style looks better to me.

I managed to do the radio one without removing the fascia but it was so complicated and painful to do it that way that if I was every to do it again I'd take the fascia out. My left hand still has the scars even though I did the job a couple of months ago.
I'll see if I can post some pics later this week.
