Default 4-wheel alignment refused: rusted rear eccentric screws

Hello all,

As per title, I went to a local wheel alignment shop hoping to get the alignment done on my XC90.

After setting everything up, the tester noted the rusted rear eccentric screws and explained that he could not proceed with the screws in such a condition for fear of breaking something that's potentially seized in the assembly.

He advised replacing them before coming back for another go.

Having checked VIDA, the part numbers appear to be:
Eccentric screw 986931
Eccentric washer 31201493
Flange lock nut 985870

Does anybody have any experience replacing these items? Could it potentially be DIY'd? Or would some generous penetrating fluid and a wire brush be able to loosen it enough?

Many thanks and stay safe.

I would wire brush the threads all around the nuts cleaning away the rust, right size sockets and ring spanners put some plus gas or wd40 if they won't crack apply some heat on the nut not for to long then try again.

Would wear gloves and take your time.

Taking the nut off looks easy enough... If if the bolt has seized in the bush.... Might have to get a set of new bushes too. If so if you can get the Polly set up.

Usually Volvo is using coated bolts on the rear suspension. As above, I would try cleaning it a little, then bring it to another place
