I had the gasket done on my 940 lpt at 310,000 miles and it`s still running lovely at 362,000 so I`d say it`s well worth it. You can get it tested for blown HG, they use a chemical kit which reacts to show oil contamination in the coolant, probably be able to get it tested free. I think £800 is excessive. I paid £700 for a load of other stuff to be done along with the HG.

Eight Hundred of our Pounds is a lot ... I "Do" Mobile, and from here at Three Hundred I'd be in "Profit" (even a beer or Two) ... Suspect that leak is no more sinister than the "Water Pump" ... and thats even easier to fix (relatively)

Hi BlueBrickSte
Thanks for this. I've been away for a week so only just read your message. I'll be going to Burnley again tomorrow - not sure yet what time I need to be there but I could come to Preston tomorrow afternoon, the earlier the better. - are you free? If so what time would suit you? Cheers, Noah |
