Unhappy Windscreen steaming up

I have a problem with my windscreen steaming up and steam coming out of the
vents when I put the heater on , works fine when I use the aircon .

It's an 1998 S70 2.5T , think it may be the heater matrix as I had a T5 a couple of
years back with the same problem.

How much is Volvo going to sting me I wonder , as the last time I had this problem
I took it to a Volvo specialist and it was as bad as it was before I gave it to them.

Anyway I can live with it for the moment as the weather is warm , but it needs to
get looked at sooner rather than later.

Can anyone confirm that this could be the heater matrix.

Thanks

Monty.

Default heater matrix

defo sounds like the heater matrix check passenger side under carpet for wetness as that is normally a good indicator

It is an absolutely easy job to do. Might not look to be but it is dead easy.

Ok thank you Jim , I'll have a look at it after work :-)

Well I had a look at the footwells and they are bone dry , but when I switched the heating
on high power I got a lot of steam on the windscreen and through the vents , and the smell
not so nice.

Well Jim if it's easy to do , why don't you come round and show me ;-) i'm in Putney , and as far
as I can see you are in London too :-)

Ill think about what I'm going to do over the weekend ....

Thanks again

Monty.
