Default V60 2020 android auto question

Hi all,

Trying to figure out if my Volvo v60 has android auto or not!

It has the twin usbs in the arm rest one with a white outline but I have tried my android phone and get nothing coming up. In the apps there is no android auto or car play apps and when I look at available downloads and new apps there seems to be no option. Is there something else I am missing?

If it's not fitted I assume its a dealer only upgrade not something I can buy and for myself?

I saw in another post for another v60 that you were able to read vin numbers and check specs. I'd be very grateful of so eone could help and put me out of my misery!

Many thanks!

No, you do not have it. It is a dealer update (~300GBP I have heard).

It does not appear in Apps as such. You need to swipe right and under second set of tiles you should see Android Auto and Apple Carplay. It should be on the same section as the Car Status tile. If the tile is greyed out then there is a connection problem.

My understanding was that if you had the second USB port with the white line around it then the Carplay/AA software should have been installed also as it was part of pack.

That is correct. White usb means apple car play and android auto has been installed

Mine had both USB ports but didn’t have car play when I bought it. It wasn’t even offered to me by the dealer either. 🤷. I have it now.

I have the USB with a white surround, but I don't have Carplay or Android auto.

That's incorrect. Two USB ports became factory fitted as standard but Carplay and AA remained a chargeable option.

Didn't know that. I stand corrected. Although I thought the white outline signified Carplay/AA was installed. Again, I stand ready to be corrected.

Thank you for checking appreciate it.
I assumed it was not installed but the two usb theories were giving me hope.

Thanks everyone for sharing!

Cheers

Afaik, when two USB ports became standard one of them was always white. This made CarPlay and AA much easier to install (in effect, only software) as otherwise it would mean fitting a USB hub and its associated wiring.
