Default 940 windscreen surrounds

I'm looking for the 5 bits of windscreen trim.

I know these are rocking horse poo. So was hoping I might catch someone breaking a car.

Thanks

Richie

The 940 I broke had rotten windscreen trims and my current 940 also had rotted trims so most others at 25 years old will be pretty much the same sadly.

I bit the bullet and bought new from Volvo. Quite an expense but well worth it as it makes a massive difference

As Autoglass stated they replace al associated trims etc. I gave them the part numbers and told them to crack on. That was over a week ago now.

I'm hoping they come up trumps. I just wanted a back up. My trim look ok, but I know they'll break

If you buy the trims new from Volvo they are part numbers:

3536962 for the upper (top) piece
9447831 for the left
9447832 for the right

expect this to set you back about £300. The side pieces include the corner pieces.

You're likely to need some new clips as well. Part number 1342004.

I had a lot of trouble getting a new trim to seat properly and suspect this was due to having had the windscreen replaced, I think for the second time in the lifetime of the car. It is quite common for installers to leave the old bonding in place and stick the new screen on top of it. This raises the height of the glass slightly and prevents the trim clipping into place securely. I got around this by gluing the trim to the plastic clips. After several experiments I discovered that Gorilla Glue seems the most effective and long-lasting for this.

I have spoken to Autoglass. who, apparently have ordered all the trim pieces. And will let me know when they receive them. So I can rebook the fitting.

If this all comes off it'll be good to have all new trims.

I'll hope its the same lad that turned up last time/ He seemed like he wanted to do a proper job.
