Heat shield
Hello
I'm new here. I have a 2007 1.6 C30 SE Sport R-design 1.6 petrol. I need to find an exhaust heat shield if anyone can help? Does anyone know if there's a universal type thing that I can buy? Because it was removed by a previous owner, I don't know what measurements they have, or a part number. Would really appreciate your help. Emma |

Take a look on ebay. I bought small sheets of self adhesive heat shield used on race bikes. Really easy to use and no chance of it coming loose and rattling in future. Have used it to secure original shield from rattling too in past by overlapping each edge.

Thanks so much for that. Do you just cover over the fuel tank or does it need a certain amount of clearance?

Hi,
If you use the adhesive sheets they will stick anywhere you want. I have used them down either side of the main shield down the centre of the car above the exhaust sticking them to the underside of the car floor and also over the edges of the shield behind the engine where the exhaust manifold joins the exhaust pipe as that heat sheild dropped down onto the pipe. Basically most of the heatshields have come loose at some stage and this is a really quick and easy way to fix them back.. The sheet sticks flat to whatever you use it on so if the exhaust is passing close to the fuel tank just stick the heat shield sheet to the underfloor and tank wherever it comes close. You get clearance as the sheet is only a few mm thick. Hope this helps. |
