WOW £1425 with no mot!! "65 miles since last mot so should pass" then why not mot it then???? Id be concerned about mileage that low as its obviously been sat more than its been used could hide a whole host of problems or could be a good car.

I agree it looks very nice.Still a bit steep price wise but how often do you see one with such low mileage and garaged most of it's life'
I really wanted to comment on the reg number. It's obviously called DUDley,And isn't a DUD.WHY cause my reg is DUD and for sixty quid it's a cracking motor.been sat for nearly two years sold as spares or repairs,So scrap value.Only had a couple of advisories.
1)chip in windscreen, not in drivers field.
2)slight play in ball joint.

740GLE ,2.3litre manual box,all the toys sunroof leather seats(which I hate)
She tows like a dream and hasn't missed a beat so far.
Funny how nearly all my lot and the guys at work said"It must be a DUD"

Don't you just love volvo's(silly question on here)
Regards Brian.

Very nice. They look great in white. Bit steep though...

My immaculate '89 G reg. 240 saloon with only 44,000miles was just £695 from a dealer. I bought it in Feb.09, have used it every day in all weathers, done 20,000 miles, it's stood outside, has never failed to start, never let me down and still polishes up like new.

And despite my wife having 2 modern cars, including a Mercedes SLK, she still insists on us going everywhere in my old 240!

Chris.

£1400 bit steep ? I would buy it tomorrow if I didn't have one just like it. It is a beauty and is virtually a new car. What can you get for £1400 ? nothing remotely as good as this. It's a bargain, a rare find, and car to be proud of.

Yes, I agree that £1400 isn't a lot of money for this 240, if it is as good as it appears - it really is time that we get away from the notion that 240s are worth next to nothing or are worth more for scrap and realise that they are now genuine classic cars and should be valued as such. I suppose this isn't good news for those of us who like these cars and are likely to purchase (another) one or more, but higher values can only help to improve the survival rate of those that are left ie higher value equals making it worth while doing (or geting done) those higher value jobs which some owners may consider uneconomic on a lower value car.
