Default Garage recommendations

Happy new year everyone

I've got a bit of a list of mechanical to-dos on my T-5R, but don't have the space, skill, or inclination to spanner it myself. Does anybody have any recommendations?

I know I could go to any old local garage, but I'd prefer it went to someone who knew about these cars and cares about them — I can do without the moaning about them being "old cars"

I'm in London

Thanks in advance

Kings Volvo in Westbury.

They have a long and vast history with forum and T5D5 club members and know these cars inside out. You may also get a discount on labour.

Many of us travel from far to go here. I go there 4 times a year from Nottingham/Berkshire..

D and A Autos in Witney, Oxfordshire, are brilliant. It's the only place I will take my Volvos for major work that I can't do myself. They formed 25 years or so ago and all worked for Volvo Witney for some years before it closed down and they set up D and A. There is nothing they don't know about older Volvos and have a stream of regular and very satisfied customers with their 200/400/700/850/V70's as well as newer models.
I used to live in Witney so they were my obvious choice but when I moved to Cornwall in 2004 and thereafter to Staffordshire I carried on using them. I recently took my Gul 125 miles to them to get the top cam cover lifted and properly sealed with anaerobic sealant (some numpy had used silicone sealant in the past). They charge £60 an hour (plus dreaded VAT) and don't hang about. They did the cam cover, cams out for inspection of journals, 4 new cam seals, new timing belt, idler and tensioner (all genuine Volvo) - total labour 4.5 hours and did it while I waited.
By the way, they regularly service and maintain a local T-5R.

John

I was about to ask the same question here myself.... How'd you get on? did you use either of the above suggestions in the end?

Any other suggestions within London area before I plan a trip out to either of these?

cheers. Ben

Tim went to D and A at my suggestion. I believe he was very happy with them.

Thanks John, I will try and schedule a trip up that way...

3 cars all with their preferred garages in or around Oxfordshire, I think I need to move house!

The best one I know is in Coventry.

https://autocasa.co.uk/

The chap that runs it is called Enzo. He is an Italian specialist, but trained with Volvo originally, and also specialises in them. Gets everything from your run of the mill every day stuff through to very special Maseratis and a few other exotic bits and pieces. Very very good prices and knows his stuff. If I was still living in the U.K. I would still use him no matter the distance.

thanks dude, they're getting further away though!!!

Not sure what is going on with London, I used to have two marque specialists in town, one sadly passed away the other closed down. Now struggling to find any decent independants for Volvo, BMW or Porsche within the m25....

I realised that when I posted it. Hopefully it's of use to someone on here.

As for BMW, I've never had one (an E30 or an E28 is on the wish list at some point), but I hear good things about Munich Legends down in Heywards Heath (just outside the M25 I know ).
