why didnt volvo make the 440s 16v?? many other companys were making there cars 16v why stick with 8v??? any ideas

now that would of made a stunningly fast car as my 8v turbo is quick enough mmmmmmmm wondering 16v conversion mmmmmm wonder what head would go .................................................. ..............

I think the B20F and B18FT engines are perfect for the 440/460 and 480. A nice mix of torque and power and a very decent fuel consumption. Performance isn't jaw dropping but the turbo engine is easily modified! The Clio/R19 16 valve engines, well they have NO torque and 95% of Clio owners do a B18FT conversion for that very reason (plus it's cheaper than fitting a supercharger!) I think this is just a case of grass is greener on the other side. You're on to a good thing and just don't know it yet!

best 440 the 1.6,all alloy lghtweight engine,great torque curve and fuel economy,over 125 mph
