Default 940 B200FT Exhaust Manifold

Hi All

After spending some time investigating an exhaust leak from the front of the engine, I'm pretty certain there must be a crack in the manifold. I've re-sealed the joints between the downpipe and manifold and the turbo flange to the manifold. At first I thought the problem was excessive clearance in one of the cam followers as it sounds like a ticking noise, but it increases in volume under load so I'm pretty certain it must be the manifold leaking somewhere - possibly a crack?

If I'm correct and need a replacement manifold, can anyone recommend a supplier (new or secondhand). Alternatively, has anyone had one repaired and happy to recommend a specialist welder who might be able to repair mine?

Thanks in advance for any help!

Graham

Have a word with Luke aka 360beast - he may have a spare manifold and he's only in Worcester so not a million miles from you.

Cracking is common, but the material is good quality and can be welded especially if you pre-heat and after heat in an oven to control cooling. I've done it myself using a mig, lower current is better to avoid too much heat.

If you go for welding:~
Is the face of the manifold flat?

Cast iron is fraught with difficulties and needs someone who knows how to do it- brazing is a lower heat requirement and an alternative method that works well and will last.
It should be easier to find a competent person for this method.
Bob.
