Default Idle issue

Over recent months ive been gradually replacing serviceable items so I understand the car is at a minimum standard for reliability.

Ive changed rotor arm, distributor cover, plugs, leads, fuel filter, air filter, PCV, coolant, water pump etc. Yesterday i changed the battery, and its most likely a coincidence, but the engine tries to cut out when idling. It sits on 800 then dips suddenly only to regain its composure.

I noticed it seems to be more prone to this when it has warmed up. This is my only car so is causing me concern. Any help appreciated as usual.

What car and engine is it? I have a few ideas but depending what you've got, could either be a quick fix or a "wait and see" fix.

92 940 with a B200F NA. I also cleaned the MAF sensor and air intake valve if it makes any difference as I previously had idle issue when coming to a junction. Turned out intake valve was filthy and i also changed PCV.

This feels more like a misfire, the engine was shaking on its mounts on idle when I returned from work.

When did you clean the PCV and throttle body?

Also pull fuse #1 to clear any random data caused by changing the battery.

What fuel (brand and grade) are you using?

They were cleaned a fews months ago and cured the stalling. I use Tesco regular 95.

Clean the PCV system again and then again after another month, it's surprising how much dirt moves when they're cleaned and how soon it makes its prescence felt!

Also i'd suggest changing to BP Ultimate (98RON) unleaded as well, you might not notice an immediate improvement but after a period of time you should.
