Default Wanted: central locking

Hi,

I would like to buy a full set of central locking components from a 200, to fit to my project 164.

Is anyone breaking a 240/60 which had working central locking? Could I come and remove all the parts? Or could you remove them and post to me?

Please get in touch if you can help.

Many thanks

John

That may be quite an expensive way around the central locking issue, you will be better buying an after market locking kit and installing it, this will be a lot easier and cheaper. Try your local car parts shop or car audio shops, there used to be a good one by the Jag dealers in Huddersfield and they can advise and if you don't feel confident they can install it for you.

I'm quite happy to fit the central locking myself.

I know what you're saying and I might end up with an aftermarket kit; in fact I already have one that is new and unused, but I don't really like the quality of the components.

If possible, would like to get the Volvo parts from a 240 which has similar doors to the 164 and would also make fitting easier.

There loads of scrap 240s with central locking and not much demand for these parts (I expect) so I'm hoping it won't be too expensive if I can remove the parts myself.

Thanks for the suggestion,

John
