Cool Mud guards and handrails.

I'm looking for a pair or full set of Volvo mud guards and handrails in good condition.

The last MOT inspector hinted that mud guards and a roof rack might be a good idea after inspecting my V40!

Why did the MOT inspector recommend these in particular if you don't mind me asking?

The car was rather full of skis and he commented to me that the rear brake and suspension system of the V40's tends to cause more trouble (I've noticed that the rear brake discs have worn more than the front discs, so this seems true) than the front.

I did say I washed under the car nearly every week, but then he commented that in his opinion it would be good to fit rear mud guards and change one of the rear brake disc backing plates when the pads are next done. I've already got the backing (Splash guard) plate, as I only had one changed when a rear damper boot split.

I also tend to think that the issues owners have with the rear suspension and brakes, is the result of winter road salt combined with a bad rear end spray pattern. The disc splash guards are not fitted for decoration and mud flaps help to prevent fuel tank area corrosion.

PS: I'm also looking for a cheap washer bottle and cap, as mine has a minor leak from a small crack at the top.

Thanks, but do you know if Volvo made their own mud guards, as I was hoping to find used OEM ones, preferably just a pair?

Yes, Volvo makes their own mud guards. Hard to come by, but they do pop up for sale here and there. Not sure what you mean by handrails.

Mind you - some people are willing to pay crazy money for a dashboard cup holder, whilst I find that I can dribble coffee down the front of my stereo for free without one

The two black plastic roof side rails that screw into the roof sockets, NOT the cross bars.
