I think the winter pack was heated seats, deep rubber mats, headlamp washers ... and a bottle of Jameson in the glovebox.

Hi,

So maybe I misled everyone. When I say hot, I mean slightly warm, but feels hot compared to any other diesel I've had. I was thinking if it had an electrical heat component at all?

And with regards to mpg, I am a little heavy footed, plus the car may be due for a service soon, which may help.

Still a fantastic car. I get chuffed looking at the phone handset in the arm rest. Although it's a shame that network providers don't offer same number on 2 sims.

Lots of extras, however the main one I utilise is the folding mirrors. Great for tight spaces.

Your increased consumption compared to your old car will be caused by something else.
There's quite a long list of subtle "faults" or running issues that can be responsible.
Wonders what these could be?

Could it be how I am driving it? as i am driving my D5 with 6 speed the same as i was driving the 5 speed.

I am also using cruise control which i didn't have in the other car.
I work nights so the drive into work is simple, no traffic, no traffic lights just 3 roundabouts.
Drive about 55mph in 6th (Boring I know) but just getting use to the car

So Brendan has an S but with winter pack.....
Graham has an SE but without the winter pack......
and I have all the features of an SE plus the winter pack but my logbook says it's an S.......thanks Volvo that's erm.......much clearer.

Aha......there's your answer.
The 6 speed 185bhp Euro 4 D5 is less economical than the 5 speed 163bhp Euro 3. This is quite normal and nothing to concern yourself with.

Pretty sure that's to easily enable/disable child locks on the rear doors so they can't be opened by the interior handle.
I have to do that manually on each door by turning a little catch near the door latch mechanism.
