Wanted: Grille Badge

Hiya guys,

I'm after a new grille badge, mine has cracks in it. I'd like the new style one though like this:

Unless someone has a complete 960 (facelift) grill, then I could be interested in that too.

Anyone have one?

I have a complete but secondhand grille which should fit your car as it came from a 1996 940. You won't get a 960 with the badge and bar fitted to it but you could try obtaining the badge and bar seperately as it should be a replaceable fitting. Best place would have to be a dealer though (if you want new) but you may be able to source a grille complete from a scrapyard (say from a rear-ended car). All the best, Peter.

I thought all 940s had the squarer grilles like the non-facelift 960?

My facelift 960 has been in a front crash at some point as the bonnet is dinted and pushed up (but i've managed to squash it down flush(ish) again

and the bumper/grille isn't alligned properly, I think the grilles locating pegs may be damaged, so if I could get another that would be good. It doesn't look that horrendous with the aformentioned damage though, and if I can get a new style grille badge and stick that on then I think it will look good. I have just bought some new style wheel centre caps and these along with the new grille badge should update the look a bit

Having said all that and having re-read your post, do grille badges come attatched to that bar thing? I might have to butcher mine and a new style one to get my idea to work

They do come as the diagonal bar with the badge in one. You may well be corect in your assumption as to the grilles but as far as I am aware all 940 grilles should fit all 960s after 1995. One of my members has a 1995 960 with the elongated sidelights in white which came with the car facelift, so perhaps a check with someone local to you with a similar car would give you the definitive answer.

Simon (Rufe) at FRF, Swansea does the badge with the slash (comes in a kit) for just under £40 including delivery. I am getting one for my V70.

Alternatively, second hand grilles with the emblems come up on Ebay all the time. Expect to pay £15-£30 plus delivery.
