We need a rolling road shoot out with all the performance chipping and braking equipment on offer at the moment.
If I read correctly for a car like mine an 850 T5, TME gives 270 bhp and Rica just over 300bhp. But these are quoted figures. TME is about half the price of a Rica for me.

You need a rolling road test with all 3 products on the SAME car, with the SAME conditions, on the SAME dyno with a HUGE fan, with the SAME ambient conditions. Lack of air flow from a small fan will very quickly reduce the power from most upgrades once intake temps rise too high. The test car needs to use the correct fuel for which the upgrade is designed for, so if 98 RON is specified, you need to use 98 RON. The engine condition must be good, as do the sensors and other mechanical components. For example, it's no use doing such a test on a high mileage car which has a turbo on it's last legs. The engine also needs to be allowed to cool down sufficiently between dyno tests in order to eliminate heat soak affecting the results.

Then you need to do an "on-the-road" performance test to measure how the 3 upgrades perform, such as mid range acceleration etc. Next you would need to do a driveability test, to see how each upgrade feels in terms of everyday use, how well it performs in real situations. A fuel economy test would also need to be done to determine which upgrade is most economical.

Finally you would need to consider other things such as reliability, convenience, backup, technical support, pre-installtion checks, after sales support etc etc.

Then I think you would have a truly fair comparison between the products.

Adam.
