Default Hard reverse shift

My V60 (my2015) with a 8 step geartronic has a problem since the last few weeks. When the engine / gearbox oil is warm I shift pretty hard (The whole car vibrates a little bit) to the reverse from P and D, I can do it multiple times in a row. The oil is refreshed a couple of months ago so that should be oke. I also checked the engine mounts (top one and the bigger bottom one), the rubber seems to be oke. Does anyone know what can cause this issue.

did you have this problem before you changed the fluid? if not are you sure the correct trans fluid was used . wrong fluid can make lots of problems for auto gearboxes . valves sticking clutch plates not releasing ect .

Yes, de correct fluid is used (original). There is also a couple of months between changing the fluid and the start of the problem.

Being a 2015, so not very old, it may need a transmission software update? Only Volvo can do this, or an independent Volvo garage with the facility to do so.

Dunno where you’re based but it might be worth calling Horton Cars in Oxfordshire for advise or if you’re near by… pop in

^^^^ That....

A software update fixed this very issue on my 2015 XC60, though it was the 6-speed gearbox.

Software is supposed to be updated at main dealer services but although my car had full dealer history (5) the TCM had not been updated.

Thanks for the reply's, the car received an update for the gearbox about a year ago, I will check with the dealer if there is a newer one available.

I will also try to start a relearn process with VIDA, maybe it helps
