Lots of Hankook's on eBay, but perhaps at this price I should just buy new Zeeteks and have them on each corner. Says they are Summer tyres but also good in S+M ... but are ZEETEK any good

I'd rather have a full set of Hankook part worns than a tyre I've never heard of (have been running Hankooks for years and they are excellent IME) but your call, of course.

I have a set of Avon RANGER ICE 235/60R18 107 on my 18" Atlantis alloys whiich serve as my Winter Wheels. I fit them each year for only a few months, "just in case". They haven't actually done many miles and have loads of tread left.

My 19" Summer wheels have a set of Cooper Zeon 4XS Sport tyres, which have been very good. I bought them in 2016.
I'm having my wheels refurbished before I refit them, so I thought I'd buy a new set of tyres for them.
I've just bought a new set of the same tyres - and they're the same price as they were in 2016!!!!

I put a new pair of Goodyear HP Wranglers on the front about 6 months ago as they have served me well over the years.

The rears are a bit past their best and need replacing but unfortunately Goodyear no longer make them and I'm old no direct replacement.

Any suggestions as to what I should go for? Should I be replacing all 4?

Thank you.

Depends on your mileage and whether you'd accept part-worn tyres from eBay. There are new ones on eBay as well, but dependent upon your tyre metrics i.e what you are running already e.g. R18, R19 etc.

Default New Hankook Purchased

1 x ZEETEX SU1000vfm 235/60 R18 107w M+S DOT 25-21

Then the other two lead to a mixed bag of type, tread & depth:
1 x HANKOOK 'Ventus S1evo2' 235/60 R18 103v MO DOT 2618 4.5mm tread
1 x Continental 'Conti SportContact5' 235/60 R18 103v DOT 2618 5mm tread

So Zeetex on the rear? Maybe I should just scout out for a second hand replacement Conti or Hankook, but iDK which would be better. EBay the other,… will do sone research, but happy to take advice.
So I've purchased a New Hankook from eBay and will get rid of the Conti (noticed it has a repair as well, so will sell cheaper) so the rear (summer) setup will be:
  • 1 x HANKOOK 'Ventus S1evo2' 235/60 R18 103v MO DOT 2618 4.5mm tread
  • 1 x HANKOOK 'Ventus S1evo2' 235/60 R18 103v MO DOT 3720 +8mm tread - New

QQ: As I drive a Volvo and the Tyres are 'MO' (Mercedes), I don't think that will matter. Thoughts?

No difference. Car manufacturer's select which tyres they use on the models of car they sell from the factory (after testing of course). So Mercedes may use Pirelli for example, Nissan may use Bridgestone... it doesn't mean you can't use them on a Volvo. So long as you're buying the correct spec for your car in terms of size, you can use what brand you want.

Hi there
I don't have my XC90 now but owned it for 9years until recently when I swopped from volvos and ran pirelli scorpion Verde's all seasons on it and very satisfied all round (in XL flavour a must though in 107 the extra reinforcement of the walls definitely helps save damage from potholes and kerbing when parking.)

Check out .......

...... Is a very good source for these and normally good prices and discounts and they will deliver direct to your indie fitter if you have one but you may have your fav supplier of course
Mine were 235/60/18 come with 9mm of tread and the first set I had fitted when I bought car in 2014 lasted me 4years.
The beauty of fitting all season tyres is you fit and forget them ....no sodding about with winter and summer tyres.
Last but not least if you want your tyres to last and achieve good fuel economy run at 39PSI AS RECOMMENDED ON THE DOOR PILLAR LABEL.

Regards. Hope this helps.

I'm sure this has been mentioned somewhere on the many, many pages on this thread, but what's the consensus regarding whether the XC90 has to have Extra Load tyres or not?
