Drivers Door Adjustment
For some reason my drivers door as become misaligned, it seems to have dropped at the B pillar by a couple of mil, this as caused to upper seal not to seat correctly and allow wind noise etc to enter the cabin. (I can almost force my fingers past the seal with the door closed.)
The hinges etc on the A pillar are all tight etc so I am wondering if it is possible to adjust the lock and striker plate? and if so, How does one do it? Any help gratefully received |

i dont know whether the hinges are adjustable or not , if not the old method used to be a jack and a block of wood and jack the door up just enough to bend the hinge or mounting point slightly

You can certainly adjust the striker plate upwards to try to compensate. Loosen but don't remove the two torx bolts, reposition slightly and re-tighten.
Is it possible your door has suffered from wind snap having opened the door and it being caught by the wind? Mine did that years ago and all I did was open the door slightly and then (rather violently) yank it upwards. That undid whatever movement in the lower a-pillar had happened and it has been fine since.

I would try that first before moving the striker plate. I am pretty sure it wasn't the wind that caused it as I always keep a tight grip on the interior handle in blowy conditions. HTH Hadrian |
