Default Fisrt week with my V90

If you want to be impressed with a new car start from a 15 year old V70. My new V90 is a massive step forward in almost every conceivable way. Hard not to smile when you unlock by just pulling on the door handle, start with a simple twist of the start/stop knob and then gently warm your hands on the heated steering wheel.

Here's a few random items that have caught my attention in the last week:
  • Navigation Send to car is very handy for us V90 owners who were to tight to invest £550 on on-call, just a shame it only works from the desktop HERE WeGo web site.
  • The narrow extension to the armrest along the side of the gear shift works really well, like sitting in an arm chair.
  • Auto dimming side mirrors have a border of a few millimetres that doesn't dim. will probably get used to that quite quickly.
  • Heated windscreen acts as a very efficient Wi-Fi filter. Park on the drive nose in, no signal. Reverse in and no problem connecting to the house Wi-Fi.

Good to hear you are enjoying it.
Interested to hear more about the HERE Wego website. How does that work?

I never thought that the heated screen could be the cause of not picking up wifi outside house. I will try turning car round and see if it works for me, good tip, thank you.

Volvo have a support article about it here:

Send to Car (Volvo support)

You need to have a Volvo ID and I think also the Volvo ID app installed on Sensus.

Then go to the WeGo web site:

https://wego.here.com

Right click on a location on the map and set as destination. The details will pop up on the left hand side of the screen. At the bottom of that block are two icons for Collect and Share. Click on Share and then select Send to car. You'll be prompted to type in your Volvo ID (email address).

When you are next in your car and it has a data connection there will be a pop up telling you the car's received a new destination. You can also choose it from the sent destinations tab in the navigation app.

All very handy,

The vehicle connectivity module (vcm) is in the drivers side of boot area which is probably why it works better reversed onto drive
