I didn't find a complete fix, just stopped it coming out of the nipple. The new electrical connected heater part leaked the same as the old one out of the electrical connectors. I think the part is not potted correctly.

Ah ok I've done the nipple already. I thought you had a leak from oil filter cover and had successfully sorted that.

By the way changing the oil filter seal with thicker one that I was recommended didn't stop the leak. I will try replacing it again but still leaking.

Yeah it's plastic so I was was extra careful to use a torque wrench and not overtighten it when I did my 6mth interim oil change (with all genuine Volvo parts and oil). That was in late July and it remained perfectly dry until January this year when Volvo did the annual service. I fear some couldn't care less be11end tech has overtightened it rushing through Sat morning work for an early finish and once the plastic 'yields' the effects are permanent and compression of the gasket is compromised.

They also overfilled the oil in Jan incorrectly using my manual dipstick and filling above the max marking on it. So I had to take the car back and explain their error and ask them to remove some oil. They did do this for me but notably never apologised for not doing it correctly the first time. It's a sorry state of affairs when we know more and care more about our Volvos than the supposed experts.
