I know it's a bit boring but I miss my 740 like something else, it looks hugely overpriced too and im curious about the 200 miles a year business for some time. any thoughts
I'm not a 700 bloke, but it looks like it is 3 grand too expensive to me.

He has sent my over some videos but the camera is moved so quickly around the car, it hasn't really shed any more light on it. In truth, it raises more worries over what is being glossed over.

Overall it looks pretty good as a base car, cracked dash top is about the only negative on interior, and compared with a couple I viewed recently, price is probably not too far out.

Is there any way I can check the Irish version of MOT online?? I think it's called the National Car Test

Cheers,
Steve
cars pre 1980 are NCT exempt.

Agreed, even though it's very nice.

Default Xc90 2.4 diesel oil filter tube problem

Can anyone help me please
I changed my oil filter today and noticed the tube that fits inside the filter is a solid plastic pipe and not a web type pipe. Is this normal because I cannot see how the oil can get through???

On the 145, it appears the pass side wing is pushed down behind the wing mirror. The bonnet(hood) is rotten through at the front(over the drivers headlight).
The sills seem to look okay as do the arches(visually).

Need to see more though , under the hood for example and the boot floor.
Especially before committing to any costly journey.
We have seen worse for more money.

Wrong area to post this I fear.

Ignoring the general condition, that is very period correct. The only things I can see that are not original are the radio aerial, the fuel filler cap and the cup holders - they definitely are not original. It must be a late '72 as mine had horizontal fluted seats instead of the vertical ones that this has and the centre console where the clock is, is the later version, whereas mine had the clock on the transmission tunnel infront of the gearlever.

Ah, well that does put a rather different spin on it, i dare say vendor might not be too agreeable to getting a NCT as a condition of sale.

I will propose and see what happens.......

Cheers Bob, most helpful

I don't think you can get an NCT for a car of that age.
I think an engineers report can be done?
Possibly in a garage with a lift.
I'll need to check.

From NCT site.
"Vehicles registered before 1 January 1980 or vehicles that have reached the 40th anniversary of its first registration do not need to be tested. However, if a vehicle is over 40 years old and is used for commercial reasons, such as a wedding hire vehicle, a test is needed."

So if he were to say it was to be used for Commercial reasons it could be done.
But, it could open another can of worms , requiring more paperwork and certification(i.e. as a service vehicle).
